    Today’s discussion point.

    Do you?
And if you do, then why?

    If not, why not?

I don't clean the back pane.

I use the back pane as a control/check area.
Just by looking at it, I can see if my phosphates or nitrates are climbing.

The other 3 sides are squeaky clean! I clean them 3-4 times a week

i clean it only when the algae really takes over .. i mean when it becomes 1/2cm thick because there so many pods and other critters living in there. but in the last few weeks ive started using nopox and i can already see the algae reducing rapidly. i guess i wont be cleaning at all in few weeks

I don't clean it.It's also a way for me to check my condition and some extra food for pods and algae eaters

Mine only seems to get covered in coraline, and when my coditions act up...a film of brown/green alage...I then fix and clean with flipper mag, as my tangs hang around and eat the scrapings! They love it...

I don't clean my back pane, I like to see the tangs grazing on it. I've also notice when I clean the back pane which was only once my tangs would get aggressive and start to fight. It also keeps my flame angel away from nipping on my sps's as he like to graze on the back pane as well.

No cleaning of the back pane, leave that for my algae eating tankmates to handle. (also a nice hangout place for some pods & starfish) @RiaanP, why dont you do a poll with the thread...

anyway, I do not clean mine.

First, its impossible to get there.
Secondly I want something for the snails.

but the problem is that under the LED lights with their narrower beam angle compared to T5 and MH, I do not get a lot of growth on the back pane.
