A lovely skimmer, and whilst a little "dated" (I absolutely detest the way Reef Octo bring out a new range every few months and then they derate the older ranges... makes no sense to me)... that really does not mean that they do not perform. Poiros pic says it all

Original skimmers - ts and dnw
1st upgrade - Pin wheel - better performance derate
2nd upgrade - bubble plate and better venturi - better performance derate
3rd upgrade - bubble blaster pumps come out - better performance - derate

Yes dude, but you cant say that because of better performance you derate your previous series (its not like overnight the skimmers performance changes).
    That really is faulty logic.

Rather rate the new skimmers higher or find some other way of seperating out performance.

Unless of course the original ranges were over rated (which they were), and the new skimemrs ratings are actually approaching a correct rating.

And skimmer ratings are kak anyway

I still believe that is the best skimmer ever built by Reef Octopus. The balance is just to the "T", from the design, size of pump, shape........And it works like a bomb.

i think meks thinks his old 300 was better balanced then his bubble blaster.

i think the blasters can handle bigger bodies but then undersump space becomes an issue.

example if u replace the 2 eheims on the deltecs aph 852 with 2 blaster 3000's that skimmer will be a MONSTER because it will have tons more bubbles with a great reaction time

Most definitely dude. There is way more balance in the 200 although it might not be as powerful as the BB 5000 I currently have. BB messed up by putting too big a pump on such a small body.
