Thanks, I thought it would be funny to put porn music on the clown fish mating one. lol
I had Ave Maria on the last one, but the pope got mad and I had to swap it out. :(

    Open letter to

    Dad and Mom,

Thank you for the Christmas gifts!

I'm posting this on a saltwater reef enthusiast's site, so you're going to get a bit more detail than you normally would get, or probably need. :)

    First,
I love the washrags you knitted for me, Mum!

I'm keeping the wrapped one for Christmas Eve... It's either that, or wake myself up at 3 am to unwrap it on Christmas. Like we used to do to you both!
    :D

Here's what else you are getting me. Thank you for the petstore gift card. :D

    Electric Flame scallop
I'm getting a couple of these. They are out of stock, so I'll have to wait to get all until after the scallops come in.

This is one of my most favorite animals. It's beautiful.
I really need the red colors, and the red on this mollusk is fantastic. The movement of the tentacles in the water is great; but not only that, this is an active animal that moves around the tank. Not only does it stick out it's one foot to move, but it uses hydro-jet power.

It is non-photo synthetic and must be target fed. I have other animals I do this with.

They are not only fun to watch, but they are amazingly in-expensive! :)

I Love you both so much. I could never have ever wished for better parents.

    XXOO

You can skip what's below, Mum & Dad... It's for the 'fish-people'. Lol!

    Flame Scallop

Popular for reef aquariums, but can be very difficult to care for
    Filter feeder requiring phytoplankton
Deceiving name the Flame Scallop is not a true scallop but a bivalve mollusc
Although called a Flame Scallop it is not a true scallop but a bivalve mollusk. Has the ability to propel itself through the water when threatened. It has a rough shell covered by small bumps. Flame Scallops are not photosynthetic but a filter feeder and will require to be fed phytoplankton to survive. Will also benefit from the addition of trace elements and calcium.

    Sun Coral

    Large Polyp Stony (LPS) Coral
    Bright peach- orange coloration
    Need to be target fed
This Large Polyp Stony (LPS) Coral is a bright peach-orange coloration. These are fragile coral and should be handled with care to prevent damage. In the wild these corals are found along reef slopes and prefer low light levels with moderate to strong water movement. Sun Corals are non-photosynthetic and require being target fed enriched foods like mysis and brine shrimp. Benefit from the addition of trace elements, strontium and calcium.

Very nice tank Dlaria - both your corals and the fish look happy.

I know the feeling - I'm suffering from GHA and cyano so much that I had to chuck an SPS frag out the other day due to the cyano climbing up and smothering it :(

I'm running phosphate sponge passively in a kneehigh pantihose - discarding it every two days. Running my canister filter with carbon, zeovite, chemipure, and nitrate absorbing filter. Adding nitrifying bacteria every two days for a couple weeks really helped me with the cyano. I've been spot squirting hydrogen peroxide (just a little) on some of the gha, to knock it back. I need a bigger cleanup crew, but the wrasse keeps eating them. :banghead: He apparently likes the taste of emerald green crab, and snails to him are tasty little morsels in to-go boxes...
