Can I also add that...if someone does "explain" how to do a certain project, that they please try and "explain" with pictures...what goes where...this solder to that...this end over here...etc...my understanding of DIY LED's improved ten-fold by the laymen terms of @hadiosbourne 's Thread...

Ok here goes the first question, as you probably have seen I have 80 3w bridgelux 3w LEDs, 38 10000k white, 38 royal blues and 4 Uvs. My dimmable drivers are the Maxwellen LED Dimmable Driver (12-20)x3watt LEDs. Is there a controller for this driver?

How to work out how many LEDs to a driver:

Take the output voltage of the driver and divide by the forward voltage of the LED

That will give you the amount of LED in series to a driver

@carlosdeandrade some bad news. Cant find much on them (not even a spec sheet), but from what Ive found looks like dimming can only be done by a 10k ohm pot

So what you're saying is that I would need to change my four drivers and then get the Typhon controller? Look, I love my LEDs, and so do my corals, but would just love to have some of the feautures of the Typhon. I think cons outweigh the pros at the moment as I am also pathetic with any DIY and was at the back of the line when it comes to electronics, so let sleeping dogs lie! :P:) Thanks for the info!

Sounds like it is analogue dimming, the reef angel can do this for you and I think the profilux. Failing that user a pots like toolboysa suggested, or change to pwm drivers and a typhon or appropriate controller.

From what I have read you can only get pwm drivers from overseas, am I rite? One sight was selling them for $33 and the Typhon is available for around $55 that's that's $187, a new reef angel costs way above $219 or there about, mmmmmmmm decisions, decisions.
I would still have to do all the wiring.
NAH, I am sticking to what I know, for now!
    Thanks for the help guys!

There is a minimum number of LEDs per driver as well as a maximum.

Check with the supplier to ensure you're okay.

Mine has a maximum of 20 per driver! Finally getting the "jist" of this LED stuff, I felt like a caveman driving a car for the first time when I bought my unit, all the threads on MASA have really helped me out!

@naptalene, mine was built by @Goby which he got from a company in the US as a kit, so I think they are ok. That's if you were talking to me.

    All good :)

I just commented so if someone reads this posts, they double check their stuff and don't just assume. I already made 1 boo-boo but fortunately found out before adding power lol.

That's why I have been following all the posts, just bought a unit without even knowing what a dimmable driver is, and why LEDs need them!
