Okay, so I am back at making a new set of my LED Lights, this time based on ZETLIGHT ZT6600.

I decided to make the whole assembly from aliminium firstly for cost,secondly heat dissipation and lastly can powerdcoat any colour.

Each unit will be driven by a 24v 20a psu. I can either fit the Zetlight controller or tc420/1 controller. The centre led is 4 x 15000k 10w chip and all other leds are same as the zetlight unit.

Some photos are testing phase of leds and some of laser cut and cnc bent still have plastic film on.

Included in photos is what a zetlight std looks like to compare. This was a unit I fixed within 2 hrs for a lfs.

After a long deliberation, work commitments, and various other, I have finally managed to complete the build of my 2 LED panels, below is some more information:

LEDs
Channel 1:


4 x 15 000K – 10W
2 x 25 000K – 10W
2 x 30 000K – 10W

These are made into 2 x clusters of 40W each

Channel 2:

4 x 445nm Blue – 3 W
4 x 465nm Blue – 3 W
16 x 460 – 470nm – 3 W

Channel 3:
3 x 520 - 525nm Green – 3 W
3 x 660nm Red – 3 W
2 x 585 – 595nm Amber/Orange – 3 W

Channel 4:

8 x 420 - 430nm Violet – 3 W

Basic run down of the unit:

Total Power per panel is 200W, current draw at all 4 channels at 100% is only 10.84A at 12.8V.
3 x 80mm fans with a 40 Degree Celsius thermal switch mounted to heatsink plate.
Each channel has a variation between 0 – 100%, so the options of spectrum are endless.
Controller is a TC420 with a 12V, 30 Amp PSU driving all. Currently have Voltage turned up to 13.2V at all channels off, voltage drop when all channels at 100% is only 0.84V.
GX16-8 Multipin plugs are fitted on both ends of unit, so one can daisy chain lights together, this cable carries power for fans and power for LEDs per channel.
Total weight per panel is 2,6Kg which is a great weight saving and ability to hang from a light structure.

Some Channels have LED Drivers such as Violets and 10w Chips others don't run drivers as the way they are wired and configuration.

Each Panel Will easily cover 120cm x 60cm.
 
Hung the pair of leds on my 500L corner tank quick this morning at 350mm from water surface and set for std Zetlight ZT6600 settings for now. Will play around tonight with it again. Have programmed controller for LPS,SPS and Std ZT6600 for now.

What would be the pros & conns if we compare the TC420, TC421 and Zetlight controllers - Including the typical prices of each?

Tc420 is usb only, tc421 is usb and wifi and std zetlight controller doesn't give u the freedom like TC controllers. In addition tc u have 5 channels so u could even control lighting in refugium set at specific times. So one controller to do all lighting.
