DIY 130d Media Rack

    Hi guys

    So i decided to try the new Tunze 9001
    I Decided to go all out and make a media rack too. Here are some pics.

    Ill keep you posted on the skimmer skimmate.

    So far so good.
    No micro bubbles!!
    Skimmate starting on the second day of the break in period already.

    Wow awesome. So the tunze9001 fits in the standard chamber no problem? You got a pic of this? Where did you buy it from and a rough idea on price please ;) is your fairly well stocked and skimmer copes no problem I take it.

    Here is a pic. 1.5days in. Yes fits in with plenty space. Tank is fairly well stocked. I bought the tunze on special from Anita on this forum for+ - R1200.

    Awesome thanks. Maybe this is the final answer to no more microbubbles Hehehe.. Is it skimming a little wet?

    Ya it is skimming wet. I prefer skimming a bit wet.

    Not sure why people pay so much for media racks when they are so easy to make.

    Hi @ricky- looking to do this upgrade as well - what tool did you use to make the holes in the perspex?

    @Wizard I used a circular drill bit. Bought from hardware.

    I think it must have been the bits used normally for wood?

    The one I used is for steel. Im sure the one for wood will work though.

    Thanks, I sourced the Perspex ex builders here, only had the very thin 3ml. What thickness did you use and what silicone works best to join the pieces?

    Here is a pic of the dimensions i used. Although i had to take off 2-3mm from the width to fit. You will see behind the overflow is a lip. That was in the way, thus the reason to cut off the 2-3mm

    I used super glue to bond. Once dried i left it in vinegar water for 24hrs. Just in case
