Diving and Collecting in the Eastern Cape

    I dont mean to get away from Broder's thread, but i could not find it anywhere..

    Anyway!

    water is a bit chilling in EL and not to clean. dived a pool i have never dived and found something interesting. a meduim sized Black Burni Butterfly deeeeeep in a cave as well as a nice anthias. couldnt get them so going back tomorrow. does any one have any tips on catching fish deep under a ledge?

    Whats happening in PE?

    Cyanide and dynamite. It will also prevent the C. blackburnii from getting whitespot, which it otherwise would get. More of a coldwater fly like marleyi.

    lost the Blackburnii, i couldnt find it anywhere! found another anthias though, sucks i couldnt get any of them. going again at low tide to try catch them both.

    A few of us are heading to TK this weekend! anyone been there this season yet?

    so, i got the one anthias, the other one is still at large. i also found another one but ran out of time!

    fish are here. not in thick numbers but they here. last week matlock got a old woman, and yesterday also got one. another el guy got a bean at mermaids pool! ocean is full of baby lion.

    got myself a meduim sized apagon kepterus, pair of meduim marlieye.

    water is freezing 18 degees might go again today!

    what happening up and down the coast?

    water still coldish and not to clean! was able to nab a small dolosus! saw a few anthias and a sneeky oldwoman

    got a coral banded this weekend. looks like a female. searched high and low to make sure there was no mate left behind, i hate seperating pairs..

    water still cold and got colder yesterday.

    water temp must be like 16 deg atm

    thats usual for you:tt2:, jokes easily could be colder with the southerly switches we been having. all it takes is 1 hour blowing south if not less to bring in that 14 deg water at the reef..

    dived yesterday. bugger all! did see quite a big batfish. never seen them before in my life. was quite earie since the water was a bit murky and its so graceful

    went to TK this weekend. was HORRIBLE! dirty muddy water.. wasting your time if you go
