    Good Morning

I am a Forty something tropical enthusiast, with around 10 years of fish keeping experience, who has had his eye on attempting a marine set-up for a number of years now. I have been perusing this forum for a good few months and have read up as much as I can about the hobby, in particular, the starting up and maintenance of a new marine tank. I must say that in comparison to a tropical set-up, marine seems far more challenging and technical and I am relatively nervous about my new adventure.

My plan is to start as small as possible and purchase a second hand micro set-up that can be used as a "testing ground" and to hopefully upgrade from there. Slowly slowly seems to be an often used phrase and I intend to do just that.

I will post progress reports as and when I start with my new project.

Finally thanks for a great informative forum. I have learnt a lot from it before I have even started.

Welcome @red deacon. The hobby is as technical as you want to make it.
If I can make a recommendation that you start a little bigger than a micro set up as it is easier in terms of stability to maintain. Besides that you always want to go bigger !

There is loads of information and a lot of skilled people here to help you.

I have setup a large 1000l, nano 125l and pico 20l tank in that order. It is definitely harder to get a smaller one stable and really humming.
