Dimming the Vertex Illumilux 900

    Hi All,

    Has anyone ever managed to design and build a dimmer that works with the Vertex Illumilux ? If so would you care to share please ....

    You can't, the power supply is not dimmable, and the driver is custom and SMT chip so you would need to redesign it

    Oh, I was not aware of that ... so would just be able to switch them on and off (bummer):blush: ... what's the story then with PWM ?

    Does the PWM just switch the LEDs on and off very quickly (hence appearing to dim) or how does it work ?

    I also see that one of my power supplies is looking a bit worse for wear. Are these special power supplies (drivers) or are they just standard 220VAC to 24VDC adapters ? Do I need to replace it with the exact same thing, or get any equivalent from a Hardware etc ...

    You will need to replace it with the correct power supply that delivers the same voltage and amps. Best is to get the exact same model. You don't want to risk an expensive light by getting a cheap power supply.
