    Hi CliveS

Tropic marin sea salt has the same values found in natural sea water, whereas the Pro Reef salt has a stronger buffering system ie. Calcium, Magnesium etc. Bio Aktif is pro reef with the added benifit of bio polymers which make foods easily accessable to corals and also inhibits the chemical warfare in mixed tanks.
Bio aktif is for aquariasts who want to stock different corals in the same tank ie. SPS with softies etc.

    Regards

    Steven

Thanks Steven. So if I understand you correctly, in a fish-only tank, Tropic Marin Sea Salt is fine?

Hold up though, im a bit worried now, can you mix lps with softies? or are there certain ones you shouldnt mix? and by warfare do you mean them physically touching each other and stinging or releasing 'stuff' into the tank which causes the stinging? I guess if i have softies i can't keep SPS? wanted some acropora :(

    Hi Deadmeat2016

With the Tropic Marin bio Aktif, corals once seemed incompatible because of their different demands in terms of care can be cared for together, with all species enjoying good growth and ideal conditions. Small polyp and large polyp stoney corals can be kept together with leather corals, for example , withouttheir combined care being detrimental to either group.

Your best bet would be to avoid ALL contact between corals .... even if you can same species but slight variations .... separate! Like us humans .... we all need our space some time or the other or we end up killing the weaker....

Correct, direct contact is not advisable but the bio polymers in the reef aktif will "bond" to the chemicals released and "neutralise" them.
