Hi Guys

My tank has been running now about 5months and recently starting to have brown algae on my sand bed for about a month now. I siphon the sand every 2 weeks when doing a water chang and by the next day it starts appearing again. I noticed its much worse under the red LEDs

Any advice will help to get rid of this.

Thank you.

The same thing happened to my tank after about 6 months. Best cure I found was time and adding a few nassarius snails and a sand sifting goby!

I heard about raising the magnesium to a certain level. It help me when I was in the hobby 4 years ago. Let me know how you get along.

You also have a new tank, so its normal for now. Keep your parameters in check.

Are you having any specific issues with your tank?
yes and no , i scraped off some gsp that was growing wild , and sold some rocks off with gsp on them and got new clean rock (wet rock)
after this i started geting something that looked like cyana that was trapping bubbles on my new rocks
i think its gone now after only running blue light for a while
