Hi all. My tank is just over a month old now. I have one turbo snail as CUC. My tank is filled with diatoms and was wondering if I could add my first fish this weekend. Tank parameters are. Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 5
Could I add a clownfish in this weekend?

If your water temp and salinity is good then I see no problem in adding the clowns!

Agree. No harm in adding them. But stock slowly. Give your bacteria time to catch up after adding livestock. I always liked adding special blend for a few days after adding new stock.

As long as you acclimatize the fish properly they will be fine. The secret to our hobby is patience. Nothing good happens fast.

Special blend is something most of our sponsors sell. Its basically good bacteria in a bottle. Its great for startup tanks and also good whembyou add livestock. It helps your biological filtration(bacteria) to cope with the added bioload. It will also assist with your diotoms. Im not a rep or trying to sell special blend. Its just something ive been using for about 5 years with great results.

Quarantine anything that touches water. I wouldn't want you to spoil your beautiful tank.

Being your first system I fully understand not having QT ready.
So for now it will be fine adding the clowns, but invest some money in a QT system.

Search for the bucket method on the forum.

Yeah, even if you just do the bucket transfer method to ensure they are not introducing whitespot into your system, that will help.

FOOD - a lot less than you think they need.

    I use Ocean Nutrition.
Hiakari is good, although I did not used it yet.

My tank is almost 2 years old and I still add Special blend. I think its a great product.

Food wise, I used ocean nutrition flakes and mysis. I used to alternate.

Generally I find the clowns don’t like flake, they love pellets and also frozen foods
