    Yes
    Brief Description
    Yesterday i bought a new reaction chamber for my tank. I added Seachem carbon to it. After cleaning it in RO water. I made sure that there weren't any dust on them, This morning my tank was black!!! Even my live rock is black
    Tank size
    100x 50x 50
    System Volume
    Total including sump 300L
    How long has your tank been running?
    6 months
    What livestock do you have?
    Fish:

    Regal Tang, Yellow Fox Face, Strawberry Dottyback, cleaner goby, red spot watchmen goby, a few blue green chromis

    Corals:

    Frogspawn, Blastumosa, lots of shrooms, and zoas. Green Stars
    Water Parameters
    Alkalinity (dkh):
    Calcium: Just over 400
    Phosphate: close to 0
    Magnesium: never tested
    pH: Can't remember
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate: 0
    Ammonia: 0
    Salinity: 1.025
    Temperature: 26.5
    What lighting is over the tank?
    2x Actininc
    2x Blue
    2x white

    Just replace all last month
    Pumps and equipment
    TS2 skimmer, Return Pump,2x SunSun jvp102 ,Cheato
    Maintenance
    I do weekly water changes of 30L
    Other info and photo's.
    This Morning i did a 30L water change added filter wool to the overflow and planning on doing another 30L water change tonight, i scrubbed my rocks a bit this morning.

    Please help!!!! What more can i do?

    What size pump do you have on the reactor?

    okay, to answer first its harmless, but unsightly

    instead of another WC, just use a power head to blow all the "dust" into the water column and let the filter wool clean it.

    you can also attach a gravel cleaner to the intake of the power head with filter floss in it and "vacuum" the tank

    +1 to what Dallasg said. I would do it sooner than later, as I'm sure the carbon dust will irritate any corals.'


    Also I would take the carbon out of the reactor and clean it a great deal more thoroughly. Until the water runs clear.

    Ditto on the other guys. You can use a water clarifier for aquariums in conjunction with the filter floss and change the floss as often as you are able. Blast your rocks with a powerhead to lift the dust so that it can be removed

    seachem clarity might also work, need to skim wet though

    I quickly went home to check on the status of things. My water is crystal clear. Ill clean the rocks off tonight. Thanks guys
