    Hey all,

Can someone assist with a decent place in Mpumalanga or Gauteng that does good wooden mouldings. I am looking for things like cornices and skirtings, etc in real wood (preferably Mahogany, just not pine or supawood)

    Thanks

if this is for a tank, you should go maranti or stained pine etc...
there will be water on it :)

Yep, thinking of going with Meranti as it is more readily available. Will also be treated and varnished .... not pine ... really don't like the look of pine

the secret of the stand and cabinetry is to not allow it to distract from the tank.
simple, neat and plain is perfect

    pine is good, see below

Nothing wrong with Mahogany if you want to go that route! I would rather go for the Mahogany then Meranti! The think with wood when it comes to water is just use a Nice HARD SOLID wood with a good sealer! I Went with Solid Kiaat! That is if you are Willing to pay the Extra buck! Exotic solid wood does not come cheap if you compare it to Pine and Meranti!

The Moldings not sure! But I get my wood from
"Maple Street Timbers" in Kempton Park, you can
give them a Call and ask them about the moldings
just might do as they do quite a lot of wood finishes.

    Google there details
