You could I suppose, don't know why you would want to though?

I find my dead corals just get covered in a really ugly brown/black algae and all the hermit crabs spend all their time on the dead corals and don't clean the rest of the tank.

To clean them I suppose just rinse them under the tap and let them dry.

Very true Viper, I had a nice pretty looking sea urchen shell and dropped it into my tank, it is not nasty looking and just this redish blackish pile of gross thing - don't bother, you will do better placing the stuff on top or around for ornimental features if you have to use them.

If I'm not mistaken (and please correct me if I am) Live rock is primarily made of coral skeletons crushed ontop of eachother, correct? We'll if you have coral skeletons you actually have a kind of live rock...Clean them with normal water and RO water after that and place them between live rock so they can be seeded and in short time coralline will take over them (thats what happend to mine). It can also like zombie said be placed in the grooves of your existing live rock forming a kind of coral reef feeling with uneven outlines and unpredictable features... After a few weeks the live rock and coral skeletons would look the same and it would nicely blend into your reef.
