i have about 50 kg of chunks of coral some large some smaller is it possibble for me to crush it myself and use it as a fine coral sand is there any recomended way of crushing it or is it just better to go and buy newly packed coral sand ?
thanks i think i will go for the sand option and i think i will crush the coral as well i like hard work crushing it all day long till the sun goes down will give me lots to look forward to
maybe i will combine the 2 use sand and mix it with some crushed coral yea i like that idea if anyone has a nice way of crushing coral let me know please i tried some and saw that the pices that brakes of looks rather sharp and very pointy
lots of diffrent sizes big small biger been collecting for 20 years i am going to attempt crushing soon i am soaking the coral so they are nice and full of water when i attempt the crushing
Nakoma, I would rather collect FREE sea sand, and start glueing those coral skeletons into some nice shape for "live" rock once its seeded it will look stunning
great idea thanks for the tip maybe you could get me started on that and if you like i can share you somje nice pices i will keep the larger pices and crush the smaller ones i am going to post a pic now of my first attempt to crush smaller pices
The problem with trying to crush them yourself is that it will be extremely difficult to get a nice consistent fine texture. I have tried this and quickly gave up. For me it was just not worth the effort.
