i think it would be the added length in the outlet pipe? at the initial length was the level close to overflowing? if it was close then two inches extra would just be enough to push it over the edge?

Don't add more pipe to the outlet, just lift the skimmer in the sump. Put it on top of a ice cream container or build a box to raise it more.

    Do you mean DNW 150?
The length of the outlet pipe doenst really matter. You should aim for 800-1000lph to feed the skimmer.
This skimmer should sit at the same level of the sump or higher.

That should not have any effect, if you changed 2 will then it would cause a problem.

The way you set yours up does it look like the pic, you have not swapped the pipes around and made the length of 2 too long.

Looks to the pipes are the wrong way around. My pipe does not go that high, it sits just below the neck of the skimmer.

Thalion is correct. Where your T piece is, it should be below the skimmer neck.

I cant seem to pull out a pic of the DDNW 150 but here's a pic of the DNW 150. This will give you an idea of where the T piece should sit.
