    Hi guys,

I have always wanted to start a marine tank and not known how. I have read a lot on this site and I think I am ready. Where would be the best place in Durban to buy from.

Any info good or bad would be apreciated.

    Thanks

Thanks for the messages guys. Unfortunately looks like I'm going to have to postpone my start a bit, I'm going to be working in the Eastern Cape for a couple months. I don't want to start the tank and then leave someone else to look after it.

Thanks for the offer Durleo, I will do when i have a chance. I was thinking about a nano for now, I don't really have space for a bigger tank, and it seems like I can do a nano on a slightly smaller budget (setup looks expensive!).

    Please keep the messages coming.

Start to get everything together, a marine tank can be expensive, so if the cost id spread over a couple of months it helps :p

Yip I have to agree. This will give you enough time to learn more about the hobby and make informed decisions when the time comes. Buying the hardware(skimmer, lights, pumps etc etc)over a period of months could also work out to your advantage as you could pick up some nice second hand equipment at good prices. hello and welcome to masa, great to have u join :)

good advice that, and getting good quality second hand stuff can really save you alot of money.

while u are in EC and dont ahve a tank going, take some time to visit other tanks and pop into masa to read about startinga tank up etc. research and learning now will help you greatly when you do get your hands wet :)

    welcome and happy postings

Thanks guys. I also think spreading the cost over a few months could be to my advantage. I also don't want to buy cheap and nasty stuff, i'd rather take longer and get decent equipment from the start than have to upgrade/replace in a couple months.

    Cheers for now.
