Started stripping my sump and came across this.

None of the silicone in the display tank is blue so should I just make a new sump?

If I pull the silicone apart it is blue all the way through. Can copper do that?

Copper is the most likely suspect, can you strip the silicone and redo it?

Ok, just phoned the chap I got it from, he says its from the water conditioner and guarantees me no copper was ever used? What you think?

I know some of the white-spot treatments can discolour the silicone to a bluish colour.

Looks like something I have used in FW Methylate Blue when I was younger, silicone went Blue, will have to ask Palmaer or Midasblennie whats in that

Thanks, will give it a good wash. He said it was a tetra product, not sure which one

Water conditioners, medications, copper can all discolour silicone.
