Looks great Dallas. Is the pic you posted of the stand that you built or one that you've seen on another thread? It looks very solid;)

tank looks good mate. Instead of 2 ts1 skimmers why dont you just use an reefocto nw80? or 100. Whats the volume of the tank? :p
Accidentally replied on the pic thread so i edited it and made it shorter but theres no way of just deleting

magnifica hey lol watch them over flows if it ever detaches or floats around even the overflow can kill it!

Well done on keeping and growing it thus far,how often did you feed it for that phenomenal growth rate?????!!i feed mine once a week a piece of hake-maybe i should up it as it hasn't grown that much in two years?

Any scaping ideas yet?i can post an idea for you so that you will create a crest of the reef that your magnifica will love and will make it the center attraction your tanks view,i'll try to post it tommorrow boet.

I'm sure it is a magnifica, it did come in as a bubble tip and I have seen it with the "bubble tips" before, so who knows.

hmmm sounds good, not sure about the height though as tank is 500, and the rock is about 5kgs he is on

but it has great potential :)

DIY chiller now that is what I'm interested in. I've been racking my brain on using an old air conditioner & converting it to be usable in the aquarium like amalik(Ashraf) his has done one & I'm wanting to check it out to see how it's done but time is not on my side at the moment.

Don't know if Dallas's DIY chiller will help you out because the way I understand it is that it is a pure electric chiller and doesn't use compressors or any working fluid.

    yip its a peltier cooler.
so also looking at building a temp reactor for it, one side to heat the other to chill.
So far a 120w heater and chiller is about R300

got the glass all cut and ready to patch the tank, and make the super skinny overflow.
    going with 2 x 50mm and 2 x 20mm returns.

as for my sump i am thinking of something like this
    [IMG]
it has LR chamber, DSB, space for my zeoith filter and a built in scrubber

    or this
    [IMG]

which has it all and a refugium

    comments are welcome
