guys was wondering what your daily routine is regarding your fish tanks ...

mines is , get up at 4am , top up water , switch rooms lamp on then actinic light , do other stuff then feed half an hour later , wait a bit then switch light off.

afternoon , switch pumps off , then feed !!! when skimmer cup is almost full , clean cup thats every 3 to 4 days !!!

Check tank and all stock 1st thing in the morning when lights come on, 6am.

Get home at night (+/- 18:00), check all again. Do topup if needed. Feed at 19:00, normally bits and flakes. Feed marine mix and brine shrimp every 4 days. Feed corals at these times too.

Watch TV and look at the fishies the rest of the day.

Weekends, do water changes and make adjustments to system, ie install a new light, etc.

In the morning, check temp and ph, add suppliments and feed nori paper and add water to auto top up if needed.
In the afternoon add different suppliments and feed flake and pellets.
Early evening add alk solution and feed norri paper
Late evening feed 3 cubes frozen food and add suppliments
After light out add slurry to system, check ph and temp.
Almost a full days job!

Wake up first thing in the morning at 10ish. Touch tank water and get a lekker shock to wake me up. Spend rest of the day cursing the damn tank. Maybe if I'm around later go eany-meeny-miny-mo and throw in some random stuff.

Wifie feeds tank lfs mix at 08h00, nori ittie bit at 13h00ish and feed lfs mix at 19h00.
Clean tank glass everyday = Cameron. Water changes Wed and Sat 25L vacume substrae Toms job.. & Fetch 100L water sat afternoon as required .. Ad infinitum :)

Walk past the tank every day at 4:15 pm and swear like a 2 bit hooker at all the hair algae.

I check tank params in the morning (PH and Temp) and look in the sump cabinet that everything is still functioning. Tank is still in darkness when I leave for work.
When I get home I do a quick scan from the doorway to make sure everything is upright (Pretending to be looking at my better half and saying hello)
Once home from work I prepare the foods I'm feeding. I feed between 18H30 and 22H30.
Clean glass every 2 -3 days and clean the skimmer cups on Wednesday and weekends.
Add kalk slurry just before lights out (Just started doing this)
RO top up is automated, so I fill the drum about once a week.

wake up at the crack of noon to check that everything is alive (as i pray every day that my damsil will be dead when i wake up) throw some food at then (they look at me as if to say "is that all") then check ph and temp do top up and squirt them with vodca!!

You guys all check your pH a lot...

*goes off to check pH*

Damn, couldn't find pH pen... :/

Haha... you guys guys are so unscientific.... :)

I have a spreadsheet printed out and stuck to the fridge so my wife knows exactly what to do when I'm not there. Monday to Sunday. I will see if I remember then I'll paste it here.

Seriously no flippen clue where my pH pen went... :( It's bright yellow, should be easy to find... Well I can't tell you the pH but I can tell you the voltage... about 3.0V only today, so a fairly good day.

Rory, check behind the fridge. It's always like a frikkin pandora's box.

wake up top up tank tank - run magnet over glass - go to work - call wife at lunch time to feed fish - come home feed fish - alternate btween PH and kalkwasser drip every 2nd day .

ill keepan eye open for it Rory !! yellow you say?

Maybe it's off partying somewhere with a couple of my left socks...

Slightly more seriously I open the cabinet every morning so it doesn't get too humid. It has a ventilation hole but it's not enough. It used to have a fan on but the fan was getting noisy. Obviously I close the cabinet every night to keep the noise down because it's about 2ft from the bed.

I top up the auto top-up resevoir every few days. Before this I used to manually top up every morning and evening. I will fill the topup resevoir with RO and and reef builder. Every few days I squirt some calcium +3 in. I used to feed every few days only but now I have a whole 5 fish so feeding a bit more. I put in some iodine supplements and reef plus occasionally. I have to clean the skimmer cup about every 3 days.

Lights are on timers, top on auto, and temp is controlled by the chiller. There were a few days in the middle of winter where I needed a heater but otherwise pumps etc seem to keep the tank hot enough.
