Cycling ??

    When i cycling a tank must the lights be on or off ?? i have had my lights on but i noticed some green and brown algae growth on my rocks and glass ?? is this part of the process ?? will it go away on its own or should i do something drastic now before it gets outta hand like last time :-( some help would be appreciated

    Cycle the tank with the lights on for about 4-5 hours a day.
    The brown algea is normal (Diatoms) they will eventually go away.

    Mekaeel is right, the algae is part of the cycling process, how is it looking now?
