Cycling LR

    Do i need to use RO water While Curing Live Rock?
    Or can i just use Tap water?

    Just a mission getting RO water For curing Live Rock

    Sumone Please let me know

    As far as I know...and what I have been told...

    YOU NEVER USE TAP WATER NEAR YOUR AQUARIUM...

    unless of course you drinking whiskey...

    Thought it wouldnt matter , seeing as everything is basicly dead on the live rock already :\

    I see you in Cape Town, why don't you use NSW to cycle the rock!?

    Ok so i can just go get sea water? i live 10min away from the beach

    I run have only run my tank so far on NSW, and it takes me 7 hours to get it home. Try it!

    Went and got a RO unit. Keeping it safe lol ..

    you can use NSW, sure.. but sometimes you are gonna get some nasty things with it. Just have to make sure the place you are getting it from is not polluted etc

    Got a RO Unit... I was worried about the Fiji Smelling not so great..
    But once i dipped it in RO salt water the smell went away,, Weird..

    Will post a pic now now..

    when cycling dead rock, do you have the lights of or on? whats the advantages of cycling in a black bucket? Thanks,
    Im currently cycling some dead rock in a old tank of mine, with lights on during the day, with NSW...

    lol thats fine.. umm its in a big black bucket because im still building my tank and sump..
    only reason you dont run lights is you dont want algae to grow... :)

    thats true, but without light, will corline and stuff grow? are you going to seed it with a fresh piece of LR?

    Well when Cycling live rock, its not to have things grow. its to cure and make it ready for things to grow :).. i will leave it cycling for 3 months..
    So no nothing should grow... as for seeding.. I dont think my rock is that dead..
    but yes u can seed...
