Hey man. To be honest. Pretty much everything scratches acrylic. And I mean EVERYTHING. I used to use a sponge but found that even if one grain of sand gets in you've got a problem.
The best that I found was an old bank card. The dul plastic edge cleaned amazingly and if you're careful won't scratch

I used a magnet glass cleaner on my acrylic tank with no problem. All I did was cut 2 piece's of soft cloth the size of the magnets. I then placed them on the magnet on each end. So a magnet in the tank with a felt pad between the magnet and tank and the same with the outside one. I never had problems but like said before just take care not to get particles stuck between the magnet and tank.

Hey, sorry I haven't posted for a while.
    I've made a few changes.
I took an existing beams work LED and added my own LED's with a controller so I can change colors. The led is about 28w's now! I got a branching monti frag to test out the light and it's been going strong for a month now.
I added a refugium with hair algae and made a custom light for it too.
    I'll upload photos soon.

If anyone in the Gauteng area is interested I can come take photos of their tanks and macro photos of their corals. No charge

I use aquavitros line of chemicals and I setup a schedule of how many ml to dose and how often. I usually test all parameters for 2 weeks and see how they fluctuate a calculate my schedule like that.
It's a lot of work but it's worth it!
I do water changes every 2 weeks and it all seems to be okay...
