For KW per day it is just

    Watt x hours /1000

    eg

    45W retrun pump x 24 hours per day /1000 = 1.08 kw per day

at 80c it is 80 x 1.08 = 86c per day to run the pump

That is how I am doing the calculations. Hopefully it is correct. :)

There's a nice little Electricity costs calculator in our downloads section.

    if .7kx = 0.7 kw, it is 700w?
Not sure if I understand you correctly.

well the espa is 700w vs 225w so 18kwh vs 5.4kwh per day

Be careful with Espa pumps. The Two Oceans ran them when they started having problems sourcing Speck pumps. Their experience was poor. I've used a Speck Magic 6 for a little while now. Good pump. The koi guys use them too.

    Your chart looks like this:

Gallons Liters Watts Liters per Watt kW per day Cost per day Cost per month Cost per year
    Reeflo 225W 4200 15750 225 70 5.4 4.86 145.8 1749.6
    Magic 6 2666.67 10000 250 40 6 5.4 162 1944
    Espa 5333.33 20000 750 26.67 18 16.2 486 5832

Not sure how easy that is to read, but basically that Espa will cost R5800 a year to run while the Reeflo will cost R1750 a year to run. The Reeflo will deliver around 3/4 of the flow of the Espa, depending on head. Reeflo pumps normally sacrifice head for volume, so this number will drop quickly.

The Magic 6 costs about the same as the Reeflo to run, but delivers 2/3 of the performance. It's locally produced and supported, self priming and likely has better head curves than the Reeflo. It's almost twice the price of the Espa, though.

These calculations were done on an electricity cost of 90c/kW.

I redone your chart. With commas, easier to past that back to excel to be able to read chart.

    Pump,Gallons,Liters,Watts,Liters per watt,kW per day,Cost per day,Cost per month,Cost per year
    Reeflo,4200,15750,225,70,5.4,4.86,145.8,1749.6
    Magic,2666.67,10000,250,40,6,5.4,162,1944
    Espa,5333.33,20000,750,26.67,18,16.2,486,5832

Important part here is, how many liters are moved for every Watt consumed
    Liters per watt
    Reeflow 70
    Magic 40
    Espa 26.67

So here the Reeflow is by far the best.

Next is the price of each.
Somebody / anymody with a picelist?
