    Hi All

Thanks for all the advice, however (apologies in advance) i need more. My tank (Boyu 550) is completing its third week of cycling and I should test the water over the weekend. Please advise on numbers and type of CuCs.

    :p

    Regards

    So your cycle is halfway.

I have too many hermits, but then again I feed them once a week extra pieces of hake, plays havoc with my phosphate levels. :(

But I like my hermits. All local from Scotsburgh and Balito.

Snails, I like Neritas. Local, small, and easy. But hermits can and do take them out sometimes. And if they do fall of the glass, they cannot help themselves upright.

Clean up crews are often overstocked and end up dying due to insufficient food in the tank for them. I would start off with 3 hermits, 2 cleaner shrimps and 2 snails.

Hmmm. Personally I wouldnt put hermits in at all.... :p I hate them. Vicious little bastards. I love my turbos. And the nerites are great. My local glass/sand shrimp is also quite the cleaning machine.. Constantly scavenging.

Thanks guys. I have just posted my paramaters and think my tank is far from being ready. Thanks viper I am going to start off with the 3 hermits (type : blue hermit) , 2 cleaner shrimps (type : Please advise) and 2 snails ( type : nerites). Any advise on type and compatibility on shrimp ?

I have noticed my boxer shrimp charges at the other shrimps. Is this normal
behaviour? Its almost like goats fighting over a small hump on a hillside. They all want to be on this big rock I have in my tank and the boxer plays king of the castle.

I am considering removing the boxer shrimp?

My hermits seems to be fine, I have a red and a blue legged hermit and have recently added a red star fish.
