    hi guys

so im busy checking out future spot for my tank..might consider going for a cube coz of space issues and like the fact that I can make it viewable from 3 sides hopefully.

anyone here have any issues running a sps cube vs the conventional rectanlgular built designs? is flow management easier or harder due to shape?

what you guys think..aiming for future totm on masa so need to do it right:tt2:

The "In Thing" with regards to flow is Gyre.
Basically getting a long pulse. Have the flow go in one direction for longer than 3 minutes, then reverse it. Easy with 2 * Vortech pumps and long pulse mode.

In a cube, you can then setup the flow to swirl around clockwise for a couple of minutes, then your reverse the flow counter clockwise.

Reasoning behind this is that the long constant flow in one direction manage to move water against the coral more than a really short pulse. And the more water movement around the coral, the better it can breath in O2.

My tank runs like that, but its difficult to get a gyre really going in a long tank. Shorter and wider works better in that regards.

Running the same pumps, thinking of placing them on back wall facing the front on either side and run them different wave lengths should give a similar pattern just shorter and random.

Should give very random flow, similar to shallow reefs.
