Cryptic Zone aka Benthnic Zone

    would this work for a Cryptic Zone aka Benthnic Zone , i know the water flow must be super slow , and im not sure what must go inside the cryptic zone !
    so if i can get some info on this it will be appreciated

    yip thats perfect!!!

    all you have to put inside is some course gravel in the bottom, i used neozeo media
    then add rows of eggcrate for the critters etc to attach to

    also on the opening i would use that sticky plastic to seal the opening, will help with evaporation, then add the lid for total darkness.

    this will also allow you to view the progress of the filter

    With any biological filter, cryptic zone, fuge, DSB etc, the easiest way to answer the question of what size is simply as BIG as possible

    i agree with neil, the biggest you can, i have a 4ft dedicated to it, the same size as my DT

    I am very limited with space. But I still want to go this route so I'll see what I can do.

    u can even use drainpipe 110mm, i started with a 2m piece filled with eggcrate strips

    my DT it 4ft and my DSB is a 4ft tank i have a ATS of 600 x 500mm the cryptic zone will be about 600 x 400 x 400 in size

    dallasg i would like to be at the JHB REEF CLUB meeting because you said you are going to discuss this further but i will do the build in the meen time and post pics as it goes

    Neil, Dallas Here's a pic of my setup. As you can see it's very limited in space.

    I was thinking of building a shelve of sorts against the wall to the left of the skimmer here. Plumbing wise it would be the easiest.
