Can I use Crushed Marble Sand like this in my tank.?

The size in the bag is the same as playsand - just much whiter?

+ it is R52 per 20 kg bag....

This is a photo of the grain size before washing it.

I got it at a place that sells pebbles and sand at Cape Garden Centre

It looks sugar granule size so on that side it would be ok, butbeing crushed marble would grains not be a bit sharp? My concern would be sand sifters and little critters in the sand would get cut up. Also what would silicates be like, if any, in that form of substrate?

One question, will the crushed marble not be really sharp? And will it not alter the water parameters?

No, the sand does not feel sharp, I will be sure after I wash it tomorrow.

The particles seems the same size as Play sand, and as I have read, it is calcium carbonate, same as Argonite.

I have 1 bag of playsand - (Thanx to JsPLAYn) and after washing and drying a equal portion of both, I will test them, and post the findings, as I do not want sand-storming in my tank either.

Meneer, I would recommend getting a bag of sea floor grade aragonite to make a layer on top of the marble sand if you use it as the finer particles of the marble sand will settle on the bottom and the courser sea floor grade will be on top.. Its not as prone to being blown everywhere

@Neil H should be able to help with this, he is a geologist. As a couple of guys have said, my biggest concern would be the sharpness of the edges.
