    hi

Does anyone know where I could buy some Cree LED lights for a DIY lighting system on my dymax iq3 pico tank as I would like to upgrade the lighting from those robot LED's or a small enough LED lighting system that could fit on the tank (dimensions 22cm L x 17cm W x 22cm H)

    thanks

You need drivers for the LEDs, so the drivers will be compatible with SA 220 volt.
Just chat to the owner of rapid LED, very nice guy. He will be able to help you get the correct drivers for the amount of LEDs you need.

Tell us more of the light unit you want to build?
Are you going for white and blue only?

Im am going to be attempting to build a LED lighting system for my Dymax iq3 aquarium so i don't really need a lot of LED's.......I was think the 4 of the xpe CREE LEDs would be fine as the tank has a volume of only about 7 liters

if you could give me some advice in this field as I'm new to the saltwater hobby

    thanks

    Hi bud,

The only drivers I really know is the MeanWell Drivers.
On the ELN-60-27 you need to run at least 5 LEDs.

Now, would you like just white LED's or a combination of white and blue?

You could run 3 white and 3 blue LEDs, but on one driver you will run all at the same time.
If you want to be able to run them on different times you will need to run 2 drivers.
That will leave you with min 5 blue and 5 white LEDs and that could be 2 much for your pico.

Why would you like to upgrade your lights on the PICO?

Im just looking at the upgrade as the lights that i currently have on the tank have really bad reviews and i'll be running 3 royal blues and 2 cool whites if i can get the lights if i can find them in SA.....otherwise the stock lights will have to do for now :)

    Ok cool.

Don't know where you will find Cree in SA and the MeanWell drivers is way overpriced in SA!
Importing would be cheap and rapid LED ships to SA.

    Good luck!
