Here is a short version of my story. i was going to buy a whole system from someone, 4 months ago. The guy kept messing me around, again and again, disappointing my friends who would help with the move etc...

So I decided to start new.

My tank is being built, and will be done by the end of Feb more or less. Size: 2000 (L) x 700 (W) x 700 (H)

    Sump will be about 1500 (L) x 500 (W) x 400 (H).

Now I need to look at the following:

    Return pump (Looking at options)
Heaters (I will go 2 or so Jager 300Ws to begin with.)
    Flow Pumps (Looking at options)
Skimmer (Still looking at options but like the Bubble Magus')
LED Lighting (Like the Razor LED units, not sure yet though)
LR (This I will be sorting out initially with the tank)
Gravel (Will see how I run the tank and if I put in any gravel or what kind or how deep...)
Salt (Planning on Red Sea Coral Pro)
Refractometer (I still need one if someone has one that I can take off their hands? New they are bloody expensive!)
    A proper glass cleaner

Also what needs to happen is:

Electricity for system to be seperated on own circuit.
Proper RO machine with waste tank to be installed.
Arms to be built in order to hang lights as ceiling is weak...
Whatever else I can think of...

My main goals would be LPS & Softies as I prefer the moving and squishy look for corals, maybe one or two SPS...

I am open to all debates and advice as I've learned this above all else in this hobby...

    NO ONE EVER KNOWS EVERYTHING...

Oh and I will upload pics as I go along...

Oh and anyone wanting to grab a beer and discuss with me I am more than open for that... :1:

Still a lot to do. Take your time and do them properly.

Just take into account, hard wiring the tank to the household DB box is illegal. So keep that in mind when doing your electrical connections. Plug the tank DB box into a wall plug point is legal.

    Hey man

Yeah, we are putting in a new sub-db for my flat, then there will be a separate plug into its own circuit on that DB that is for the tank.

I am getting a proper sparky to do it though as I wouldn't know what is legal and what not...

A line from the DB to a wall plug is legal. As long as you plug our equipment. Even if got another sub DB on your tank and everything hard wired to that, but that DB plug into a wall socket, that is legal. But the sub DB cannot be wired directly into the house DB box.

    I'm no sparky either,
    @Yuri, your comments please.

Thanks for the info so long guys!

Also just as a note. My nano that I started last year had a cycle of 4 months. I plan on doing it a bit longer on this tank or more or less the same... Probably around 6 months or so at most. That also gives me time to properly research everything and some time to save up for the bits and bobs needed...

I did not know the hard wiring was illegal, I was planning something else though but that is important to note. Thanks
