Hi Guys

My Niger trigger has developed a couple of cotton wool like growths just behind his left pectorial fin as well as around his mouth.
He is still acting normally, feeding and not scraching.
Does anyone know what this is and how to treat it?
Should I isolate the fish?

It could be lymphocystis or a fungus of sorts. Can you QT the fish at all?

I have read that you should catch the fish hold it in the palm off your hand and remove the lymphocytes growths with a scalpel, treat the open sores with lugols Iodine solution.
But rather wait for one off the more knowledgeable guys to point you in the right direction
goodluck

You can cut the lymphocysts off and clean with either hydrogen peroxide or mercurochrome. Luguls is ultimately iodine which is a steriliser. Please post a pic of the fish so we can ID the problem

Hi GUys

Thanks for the replies.
My take is this is a fungus.
I have a QT tank and will put him in there.
Is there any mediaction that is a sure cure for this or should I just wait it out with good water quality?
I could scrape the fungus off him with a ear bud before I put him in QT.
