correct skimmer depth

    Hi guys,,i have a reef octo skimmer. what is the ideal depth for the skimmer?

    at what height shud the water level be? the skimmer is internal. and is overflowing even with the outlet opened full

    skimmer was sold to me as a reef octo extreme 200..but doesnt look like any i have seen

    i honestly dont know what that skimmer looks like, but it should have a pip on the side where the clean water comes out after being skimmed adjust that lower and see everyday if they skimate is more bubbly then watery.

    If it is overflowing with the outlet fully open it is probably too deep, try raising it a bit. Finding the perfect level is a bit of an art.

    if your is the same length as mine then put it 300mm deep into the water. i got the nw200 reef octo and mine is sitting about 300mm deep.

    is it in a place in the sump wher the water level stays constant?
    keep it at about 20cm submerged and leave for a while,the overflowing will slow down and then regualate/adjust slowly and watch

    Ive been looking for the depth at which to set this exact skimmer and you answered it... thanks. my baffle is 300 high so it will be perfect.

    hey guys...my skimmer is pushing water but for some reason, the water at the surface is not getting agitated... The skimmer is raised higher than the sump...i have a dnw150...
