Coral in a 40L?

    I have a small 40L Aquarium. On the moment I some pieces of Live Rock and a Blue-Legged Hermit Crab and a Yellow Watchman Goby.

    Light is a 8000K White tube.
    Filter is a HOTB filter/skimmer (900L/H)
    Now the question is what coral can I put in the tank. And if I even can.

    Its 33cm deep.

    Any other questions about the tank, just ask.;)

    what light tube is it as you get lots of diffrent kinds eg.... T5, t8

    Its a T8 from Jinlong, got it with the tank.

    I just had the water in, and that purple decor thing and a rock. And some shrimps I see:)

    i hav seen the aquariums in pet shops before, correct me if i'm wrong but it has 1 10w t8 tube, which if i was you would change to a 10000k jebo tube, and could actualy add an extra 10w blue tube in the front , at very minimal cost.

    just one more thing , by the looks of it you have used sea sand , which i would change to aragonite or coral sand as sea sand contains silicate.
    you should be able to ultimately be able to keep mushrooms , xenia in there , maybe zoas, except they do actualy like a fair bit of light , and tend to extend themselves toward the light if its not sufficient.

    Hi Q89

    Got a similar tank...called a Jebo....i think its the same thing as yours. retro fitted a 10 Marine Blue moon cfl on the front hood...bit of diy work Took about 1 hour to do. The Tube and 15watt electronic ballast cost under R200 and any LFS.
    makes a hugh "colour" difference to the tank. The Coral love the light and you will definately need it for getting good coral growth.

    Will these Corals work in the tank?

    Candy Cane LPS Coral?
    Green MTLC Moon Coral LPS?

    I got a strip of LED lights. Blue. Want to try it out on the tank.

    Lets pop in a 24W PL tube
    Candy Cane will work, fox coral shrooms
    Bring the hood and lets modify, after all that's what we do in the marine world:p
    Think if that PL fits then you can even keep the moon coral

    Haha Xtreme!! Where must I get the money for those expensive Corals?

    So I decided that I'm going to leave the Coral till I get a bigger(at least 250L + 200L sump) tank.

    Now I am thinking of just getting another fish, maybe a Nemo.
    Wanted to buy one of the two Xtreme has at his shop, but they are not for sale:(

    and after reading this thread ( How rare is this? - Reef Central Online Community) I might still decide to go live there!!:thumbup:
