    Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post. Still finding my way around.
I have been running my tank for 2 months and also with zenia in it for a while now.
When I bought a new lights system and coral 3-4 days ago and placed it into my tank my coral started getting a slightly brown discolouration on it. When I had my parameters tested last week they seemed 100%.
Here is a photo of when I bought it and then followed by one i just took:

That leather looks closed up from the pics...no polyp extention and deflated. Does it have a waxy look about it at all? Could just be ready to shed its skin and the brown is nothing more than algae, dirt etc that had built up on the closed up coral...if that makes sense.

I must be honest the picture does not really show the brown very well. There is no slime/waxy look. ok so this is a leather. Was told it is a finger coral. Ok... will have my parameters tested tomorrow again and give it time thanks,

Finger coral is also actually correct as the full name is finger leather coral, leather corals is a group name. Is any of the other corals showing signs? How does your new lighting system differ from the tank that the leather was kept in?
