Hi
"The quality and fates of coral primary production imply that zooxanthellae provide "junk food" to their hosts, and beg the question of nutrient limitation of coral growth rates under conditions of adequate light…On present evidence it seems clear that all corals need to supplement their diet (with food) from outside the symbiosis (heterotrophy) in order to meet these requirements."

What are the various feeding practices among the members?
Any comments?

I wonder if Anthony Calfo will be covering this subject in depth at IMACSA. I really hope so.

Every one knows that corals need feeding. The questions are what, how often and how. Sorry I am no help but just added a few questions.

well in terms of target feeding LPS,i use invert banquet

Rod as you know i target feed LPS with defrosted frozen food and you have seen the results.

I`ve never fed a coral in my 12yrs keeping them but i do feed the fish up to ten times a day so i guess they`ll get some of that.

I am still looking for fish roe, nothing in my area. Have been offered Caviar, my budget cant stretch to that. What I really want to feed are a bunch of Ricordea I have.

I am working on about 5 different ones at the moment, trying to get another batch shortly. I am feeding them on pellets, but I think roe would be more natural.
