Not the normal qeastion when it comes to the eating habbits of a CB.

I got a copperband a few days ago. It was eating only frozen Artemia when I got it. I have since fed it baby earthworms, bloodworm, frozen white muscle and a live oyster.

I want to know if it is ok to let the half shell oyster or muscle stay in the tank from the morning till the afternoon when I get home? The CB eats very slowly and nibles on the flesh all day. Should I be concerned that it is eating too much? And will the muscle or oyster cause havoc on my params. I take the half sell out when I get home and put a new one in the next morning.

The hermits love it, the other fish take a nip now and again. The CB just hovers around it taking its time choosing the perfect piece to eat.
@RiaanP Do you think leaving the half shell in the tank is ok for a few hours a day without affecting my nitrates to much?

    skimmer should show the impact.
As its should be eaten, and not rot away, there should not be an impact on your nitrates. Not directly from the half clam anyway.

CB have very short and small digestive systems. The majority of their food is small invertebrates like worms and pods. They like to feed constantly.
