    Hi Guys

What do Copperbands eat? Bought myself a Copperband this weekend and LFS said that it is used to feeding on Brine Shrimp. I have fed Brine, Nori, pellets and frozen mussels, but I cannot see this fish eat any of it.

I have noticed though that it seems to pick at the live rock in the tank.

    Any advice or recommendations please?

Damn , better to research BEFORE buying.

It is probably pecking at pods. Try some frozen mysis...most CBB's will take that

Copperbands are notoriously finnicky eaters and sadly the majority of them end up dying from starvation in our tanks. Whenever buying any fish from an LFS, ask them to feed the tank, if you see the fish is eating then it's got a chance, if not then walk away.

Have a read here, in particular the sections on Feeding Requirements and Difficulty Rating. - Reefkeeping Magazine - Fish Profile

Try a mixture of enriched brine shrimp, mysis and krill.

My LFS told me to put a mussle in. I did not do that as my copperband was pecking on the rocks. A few days later my aptasia started to dissapear and now he is eating frozen food. Got him for about 4 weeks now. Best buy ever.
