Have a fan blowing directly onto your water ( this evaporate the water quick so have your RO standing ready) or else use some frozen 500ml buddy coke bottles to cool down the temp but do this slowly as dropping the temp dramatically could stress your inmates. But plan your whole day around it as it"s something you will need to monitor all the time. I have 3 tanks...no chiller and going through hell and back doing this for the past 2 weeks. Now going to buy a chiller and rotate it between all tanks...good luck...or else we all should just send a letter to the man upstairs and ask for some cooler days !

Fan across my sump. Cheap, buy standard computer fans from Communica, plus a little transformer. Some DIY and you are done.

Ok, sorry I might not have been specific, is that how much you paid for it, or how much you want for it?

No worries, that's how much I want for it, paid substantially more for it. Didn't use it for very long down here, as it wasn't very effective in our humidity, was warned of this from the guys in JHB, but thought I'd try

Ok, yes, humid environments can be a pain in terms of evaporative coolers. Good luck with the sale.

I got 2 120mm pc fans across my sump, total cost including plug n play transformer about 250 bucks or less, works like a charm.

@RiaanP and @gMAN, guys what would your temperature be WITHOUT these fans, and what are they now?
Sounds like DIY is the way to go! How do you place them over your sump?

last summer without the fans my temp was around 29deg, with the fans, a constant 26-27 deg. I haven't turned them on yet this summer as the weather is still favourable and my temp is between 24 and 25 deg

Thanks @Express Reef, they really look cool, excuse the pun:p. Where did you buy yours, through the web sight, or can we get them in SA? Would like some, as my DIY is a hazard to mankind.

The fans drop my temp by 2 to 3 degrees. But it pushes your RO top up a lot.

Mine is not up at the moment. Actually, I used the transformer for another project. Need to get another one.

My system is currently at 26.8
Must admit, one big advantage of led lights.
