Cooling, Alternate to chiller.

Hi everyone.

Are there any of you that cool your tank with something else? Any DIY Ideas or fan setups that work? With the recent heat my tank runs at 27.5 degrees. Even at night with fans on.

If there is already a thread like this please link it for me as I was looking but could not seem to find any.
 
I know Idol Marine have a nice evaporative cooler which is also cheaper than your conventional cooler. Give them a buzz maybe they can help.
 
Fit an aircon in the room with the tank. Will keep everyone cool. And aircons are still cheaper than chillers
 
As @EFJ says, Idol Marine evaporative cooler...
Very effective but you will use more R.O topup water but a bigger R.O reservoir will fix this.
 
I know Zayn from powerlab has a new option, it looked very good and a lot more affordable
google powerlab
 
DIY solution a couple of computer fans connected to a stc controller mounted above your sump ,ran this kind of set up here in Abu Dhabi over the last summer when I was at work dont leave aircons on my tank never went above 26 c with outside temps of 40c+.
 
I got 4 PC 12V fans, 2 over the main sump, plus another 2 over the remote DSB.
All connected to the STC.
For best results I do need to leave the cabinet doors open.
 
I put a 220v desk top clip fan on a STC works like bomb
