I keep seeing contact details being edited and removed from posts. My question is why?

Should sponsors also remove contact details for fear of this "reason" ?

I would like to hear an argument why I should continue to leave my contact details on this forum if members are encouraged not to. :p

Just a fun thread to discuss over the weekend.

I say leave them there!! Easier doing business via phone than pm

Other institutions like banks, cellphone provider, insurance, etc have already sent my phone number to everyone everywhere, so posting my it here isnt going to make much difference to the amount of spam i get.

    Same goes for email adress

depends, Google is rather fast, if its posted, they tracked that within 30 minutes.

And it depends if you want anybody to phone you, people you do not know who want info, companies selling cell phone contracts.

    I would rather not.

I don't mind giving out my number. Marketers can call me, it gives people employment :D. I certainly hate being treated like a child when I give out my number freely and then it's deleted. Leave them there. @Nemos Janitor, maybe you should add a poll to this thread.

Relatively safe in the sense that other members and google can not access them, however I would strongly advise against putting any vital information in PM's like passwords or sensitive banking details as we are not on a secure server so I can only assume that somebody with hacking knowhow would be able to access them rather easily. The only thing on masa that is encrypted is your password, nothing else, PM's are not encrypted.
