    Morning all
In the process of wiring up MH's, 250w, but one question, is should I be running an earth. On the ignitor and ballast there is NO wiring for an earth, if I should be running an earth, should it go directly to the reflector's connection? There previously was an earth connected.

Run it directly from your plug.

Last thing you want is to get a shock from a MH!

Thanks Sentari, confirm straight from the plug to the hood

Earth should run from the Plug to the chassis of the ballast and the reflectors / metal frame of the lights.

The ignitor does not need to be earthed, but you should earth the ballast. It would be pretty strange if it does not have an earth connection, but if this is so, just earth the outside metal casing, perhaps through one of the mounting holes.

Agree completely with the guys on this, it's a must to earth every metallic part of any electrical installation, even if you need to do be creative in this. Just be careful with the bolts and nuts you use for earthing, dissimilar metals with salt water around is a disaster.
