    Hi all,

    I just bought a Bubble Blaster HY1000s from @mandarinman
I need to figure out how to plumb it into the DNW250.

First option and the easy option is to make the skimmer a internal skimmer.
I would like to keep it a external, so my question is how do I get around the air intake nozzel in pic 3?

Here is a pic of the skimmer:

Here is a pic of the Blaster without the nozzel:

Ok...first of all the pump wont be able to handle the back pressure of that big body...it will not perform at its best...best to get two hy3000 or one hy5000 pump

Good grief! I hope it can handle the skimmer! I bought it not to feed the skimmer!
Was going to run 2 of them on the skimmer!

u will need to buy the external bubble blaster fitting venturi that connects it to the external skimmer, or you can modify it yourself, That skimmer pump is a bit too small as ridwaan mentioned for the 250 body

Thanks ziyaad, but was planning to get another one. Would it help if I run 2 hy1000's or should I add a 2000 or 3000?

Where can I buy the fitting?

I would say that you should add the BB3000 as well. Ideally i think it will be cheaper and easier if you buy 1 OTP5000 skimmer pump and use that pump it will come with the fittings/be easier to connect without any issues last i saw it was 1715 . you will need to get your LFS to order it for you as its not a common kept in stock pump.

That is super cheap! I might just run 2 of them!

I agree with ziyaad on the otp5000. Cos on that specific.skimmer its two pumps pushing against each other into one t piece.so if you connect one otp5000 on the skimmer you will have more then enough.then just block off the other pump inlet and outlet...

Ridwaan but i skim that the OTP 5000 could be too powerful i was checking the new NW250 yesterday and that neck is the same like the BB5000 skimmer neck that old Dnw may be a foam cannon with that pump on there?

Did some research on the Bubble Blaster skimmers:

1000 EXT uses a HY1000s and skimmer chamber is 150mm
2000 EXT uses a HY2000s and skimmer chamber is 170mm
3000 EXT uses a HY3000s and skimmer chamber is 200mm
5000 EXT uses a HY5000s and skimmer chamber is 250mm

So would you agree with the following (my chamber is 250) :

    2 x HY1000s should work on a 300mm chamber

Or should I just buy one HY5000s pump and close out my other end?

Ridwaan, I think it is the other way around: It is pulling water from one T piece and foaming on it's own T piece inside the skimmer

Two hy 1000s would run the skimmer really well. just remember to do the fitting so that the pumps are feet down.wards as they pull the most air this way. You can use irrigation fittings from andrag on old oak to do this perfectly. Remember i know the pump. i used it and a small aquamedic to run a ts3

Ps although i must also mention that the price difference between the hy1000 and 2000 is so small i would buy a hy 2000 to run with it
