    Hi Guys

Having a couple problems lately and wondering if any of you could perhaps shed some light......

    Running XP

Problem 1 : When selecting to show hidden files it just doesn't stick, you select it, click OK, and it still doesn't show them, if you go back to the option, it shows "don't show...." This was fixed by "repairing" windows using the XP disc.

Problem 2 : When double clicking on "C:" in my computer it come up with the "open with" selection and not just into the exploring folder....... ? WTF. Not fixed with the repair.....

Justin - when last did you re-install XP? I think that your copy needs re-installing...

That said - the 2nd issue you having - is that either your mouse itself is physically sticking, or alternatively a key on your keyboard is sticking (check out one of your CTRL or SHIFT keys, or perhaps even the "Windows keys"....

Another thing MIGHT be either your mouse driver or keyboard driver is buggered, and you need to upgrade these......

    Hi lIghty

Your c: drive might be identified as someting else, but have a look at this solution.
Hope it works!!! First try only to point 3. From point 4 it looks like the fix a virus problem. Do not mess with the registry entries unless you know what you do. Good luck.

WikiAnswers - When you double-click your C drive it gives you an option to choose a program to open with. What can you do to open it by double-clicking

The first issue sounds very much like a virus I've had before. Damn annoying and there's no easy ways to change that damn option, even after removing it. I suspect the same one caused the second problem. Use a good virus scanner like NOD32 and do a full scan etc.

Lighty you need to click the Apply to All Folders button.

Otherwise it usually just applies to the one folder.

Sound like a virus to me, switch to Linux, that should solve your problem. ;)
