Its almost time to get new livestock.
Tank looks a lot better. Running from 1 April.
And before anybody jumps on my b@lls, for having fish before cycle is completed. This was a tank move. And DSB has been running on old tank since beginning of January. I had a RO mishap middle of April while I were overseas. Tank run for a week at 1.019 and my softies were not happy. Lost my hammer coral. Diatom bloom on that sand that is getting better slowly. My parameters are all OK.

Anyway, the fish I have, that comes from my old 250L system:

    • Blonde Naso Tang - Naso lituratus
    • Desjardini Sailfin Tang - Zebrasoma desjardini
    • Ocelaris Clown - Amphiprion ocellaris
    • Midas Blennie - Ecsenius midas
    • Klipvis - Clinus superciliosus
    • Blue Yellow Tail damsel - Chrysiptera parasema
    • Dusky damsel - Abudefduf Notatus
    • Golden Head Goby - Valenciennea strigata

    What I do want,

    • another Ocelaris Clown, but the darker orange red ones, not the faded one.
    • Copperband Chelmon rostratus
    What I do like

    • Banggai Cardinal * 2
    • Heraldi / False Lemon peel Angel
    • Dottyback / pseudochromis
    • purple headed firefish
    • Black Head chromis

    Any other suggestions.
No Anthias sorry, I cannot feed them multiple times a day. :(
I rather want a lot of smaller fish than a few large fish. Tank is 1.5 by .750 by .750.

    Thanks so far.

The rockskipper is very close to the klip vis. Unless maybe a lawnmover blennie or something like that.

    Royal Gramma is nice idea.

Mystery Wrasse is stunning. But will it not compete with Copperband for food? Also Iridis Wrasse is nice. What is their grown size?

Yes, I was thinking about the purple tang. As I like the false lemon peel Angel, also yellow, I do not need the obligatory yellow tang. Max I can keep 3, maybe 4 tangs

Or other option for a tang is a Scopa's tang, depends all on their aggressiveness.

Frans, the helfrichi goby is nice

Idol Marine got at the moment a lot of Banggai's

    Any other schooling fish ideas?

Fish that i think are cool...seeing that you want a few more small fish.

You dont have any wrasses so try a bannana wrasse (the completely yellow one)... they get awesome orange colouration on their fins and head when they mature and take short time to do so. They also pretty chilled fish.

Other wrasses that are passive are fairy wrasses...like the carpenter wrasse or if you can get your hands on one, a Scotts Fairy wrasse. Mystery wrasse is great but expensive!

Fang tail blenny..the turquoise/blue/yellow variety is also cool and colourful.

Other fish that are cool are gobies...very cool fish is a Dracula goby or Rainfords Goby... cool characters... be carefull with the Valencia though with territory!

    Also Jawfish..cool characters as well.

You dont have any angels... A flame always adds colour to a tank... however not sure if you willing to take risks with reef safeness with LPS or clams...most are ok though.

The BLUE Chromis are the most stunning IMO but they ship badly and are not so easy to get hold of.

    Goodluck and enjoy!!!

I already have a Midas Blenny. Will the Fang tail go together?

I'm looking at the Heraldi Angel (or false lemon peel - same thing). Nice yellow. Will a Flame and Heraldi work together. Or only one.

I think it will look nice to have like 5 to 8 each of different chromis species. Some Black head, also lineata (thanks Frans) some Blue-Green and if I can some Blue. In total about 20 to 25 chromis. That should give a lot of movement and colour to the tank. Is that OK to mix different chromis?
Just hope my Dusky Damsel behaves or else she is going to the sump.

Fang Tail Blennie..are we talking Meiacanthus sp. ? If so IMHO no wont work with a midas, same level swimmers, roughly same shape etc. Also the Fang blennie is venomous, ie if another fish hassles it , it will retalliate with an bite. My 2C

personally i would look at gettinga long nosed butterfly instead of the lemon peel as a yellow fish, but youd need a good pod count to start with especially with a CBB as well.

the rainfords goby is a great fish, i really enjoyed the two I had, but small and timid.

You could also add tile fish as a possibility but they can jump and I am not sure you have a lid?

also pay attention to the non sand shifting wrasses, the fairy wrasses and or guiniefowl wrasse, maybe a leopard wrasse. all nice slowish fish that add great beauty to a tank.

i also think you need something more in the lower areas of the tank, and Id look at some of the small gobbies, perhaps a highfin goby or if you want an interesting fish to watch but not pretty, the engineer goby.

instead of chromis why not try get a shoal (4 or so) of pakistan butterfly, fantastic red in the tail and very striking fish (50/50 with reef safe though)

i have a list of fish I was looking at with some notes on the ones I wanted, i'll send it to you :)

What about some groups of these:

Chalk Bass - Serranus tortugarum (8cm's) - add all at same time
Yellowstriped Cardinalfish - Apogon cyanasoma (8cm's) - groups of 5 to 7, add all at same time
Yellowtail Demoiselle - Neopomacentrus azysron (6cm's) - add all at same time
