Just because the water level is going up and down more doesn't mean it's better flow. The corals were moving a lot more with just the pumps. Look at the anemone at 1:58 (Vortech) and 4:06 (Tunze) vs 6:09 (Tunze with wavebox). The point is to move waste products away from the animal, not just move it backwards and forwards.

I think both are great, have vortechs, very happy, but wont be sad if I had tunze's either. Just don't like wires over my tank.

Also with Tunze box, the fish just sway in one spot, I see what you mean @Lord_Blackadder.

I hear you but there is one key word here - silence.... Don't like my pumps sounding like a sewing machine!

In my view the point of flow pumps is to simulate the sea as closely as possible.... Think a wave box does the trick!! And complement that with flow pumps I see no problem with organisms sitting I the same water!

Ok, that's cool, flow pumps and wavebox as well, I have it all with my vortechs. Also they change into different stages in each specific mode so it's not always the same (vortechs that is).
What does tunze have that vortechs don't? I think their flow spread is better, and its a German product. Only two reasons why I like them.

Flow is just as good if you add the wide flow nozzle! Have you seen how beautifull softies look with a wave machine?

@williet, I believe you forgot about quality, you dont see many guys that still have their vortechs 5+ years down the line, but with tunze you do and they still work the same as if they were just bought.;)

Tunze has my vote! It's also better value for your money and not as expensive as vortechs
