About two years ago, I moved back to pretoria and placed all my equipment in storage. In August this year, I decided to dust everything off and get back into the hobby. I went with something different this time, a more compact setup. My new setup is 1.5m x 0.6m x 0.5m, with the display, DSB/Refugium and Skimmer all in the same aquarium. The tank has been cycling for little less than two weeks now with some live rock and a bit of live sand (Thx Steven for the live sand). Ammoniac spike in full swing. Planning to cycle till end Sept, if levels ok add some snails and hermits. At end of Oct add a shrimp or two, wait some more and hopefully in Nov add the first fish. Excited to be back. I am looking for some macro algae for the DBS/Refuguim, if anyone know where I can get some, please let me know.

    Interesting setup

Need to look twice to see what is going on. At least you should not have any siphon problems when the power goes out.
