Hey guys, some of you might know me from the freshwater forums. Up to a few weeks ago marine tanks were "I'd love to do that, some time in the future". I'm not sure what changed, but suddenly all I can think about is reef tanks. All day and all night. I'm planning on doing a nano cube-ish tank, about 200 litres with a sump at the back, nice bommie-type aquascape, starting with some super easy corals and beginner fish and seeing how it goes from there. :1:

    Welcome to awesomeness.

I love to watch the reef with my wife discovering new things and watching the corals grow.

    Good luck

    Hello And Welcome.

Why not look into a secondhand TL550. Nice size to start out with, not the best skimmer thou, but overall a nice system to start with.

Well, I have a tank now! Only about 70 litres, but some people were selling an entire system for an amazing price, so I couldn't resist. It's running and live with some nicely encrusted LR and a few little critters. Going to spend some time watching them before adding anything more. I'm planning to start with a few zoas and maybe a mushroom or two, but what comes first, polyps or snails, shrimps etc?

Usually clean up crew (CUC) comes first, so first the snails and cleaner shrimp.

Hi and Welcome to the Addiction, Salt Fever.

I agree with @3dd, clean up crew first then after a couple of weeks start adding corals and fish.

    We need pics, dude :p
Agree with the CUC additions first but that being said, you can add a mushroom or zoa frag without any harm.
    Good luck and enjoy!
