It really depends what corals you looking at keeping and if you are interested in growth or colouration... The more the blue the globe the less light output it has compared to the whiter light.

Okey, keeping SPS under four T5's (of which at least one will be blue) is a bit dicey. If you have access to ATI or Geisemann T5's, get the 14/15000K tubes from them. This will give you both a bit of white and blue, so you won't loose out on color.

IMO, aim to have 6x T5's before you keep SPS. I am a huge Geisemann fanatic, so I'll list as per their make

    Color as follows:
1x 39W Pure Actinic (purple light REALLY bringing out NICE flouresence)
1x 39W Actinic Plus (Nice deep blue feel for moon effect)
    * Run the above two as one pair... ;)

4x 39W AquaBlue + (this tube has 5 phosphor bands in it. They mixed 20000K and 6000K Phosphor so you have a nice crisp white look, and the lumen yet your color won't be lost / yellowed out)

This combo on a 3 foot is IDEAL!!! :)

If the tank is that shallow Dale, then you might come away with only four. But then you need low kalvin rated tubes, 12000K or less. I had a plating monti under two 6700K 39W T5's, and he was doing well.

    But...

The water becomes yellow, thus the increase in actinics / blue coloration. I would suggest maybe then trying out 4x T5's.

Use 3x Geisemann AquaBlue + and one Actinic + (that SHOULD do.)

Then wait and see, the moment your corals starts looking "off" then add two more T5's under lower Kalvin like 10K or 6700K.;)

Dale I would go for an actinic and a white 10000K and then when you ready get another two 6600K and another coral blue... I believe you gotta mess around with your lights untill you find the right combination that you like because in the end its what you want your tank to look it....
Oh im using reeftech at the moment and im enjoying them
    No problems with them yet
