Okay, so maybe this is another contraversial thread, but got this link from a very experienced fellow reefer and been on my mind all day...

Bottom line..... Get rid of all your Cyano and GHA with sailfin mollies...

In the past few weeks, I've done water changes, dosed Carbon, rowaphos, rowacrystal, microbelift, microbacter, and even switched off lights for 3 days... I have finally won this round with the cyano, only to be left with an outbreak of GHA.

It would be interesting to hear the experts opinions....

If it works go for it but what are you going to do with the fish after your problem is gone? Microbelift should help reduce the phosphates fueling your GHA outbreak so be patient with that one

The reason you have GHA outbreak is because the cyno has dissapeared and the GHA has started taking up the phos and nitrates.

Everyone has the same problem. The best is to just wait for the tank to settle.

Don't think I will do it but the part about them spawning and making "food" for the tank is intruiging especially seing as seahorses apparently will eat the fry. Wonder what the nutritional value is though.

Treat the cause not the symptom Max.

One or two wterchanges will not miraculously rectify the lack thereof from the past.
